UV Coatings and Overprints
This is a list and brief description of many of our most popular Spectra Cure UV coatings and
overprints for litho and flexo applications. You can contact us for more information regarding our
variety of products for your special application.
UFW-409 UV Coating for Web Offset Heatset Inks
Use: Publication cover or insert paper. UFW-409 exhibits good adhesion when applied off-line to dried oilbased
sheetfed inks and in-line heatset inks on paper substrate suitable for publication printing. This
product is not suitable for imprinting, laminating, inkjet receptivity or glue receptivity.
UF0-3258 UV FLEXO High Gloss Flexible COATING
Use: Paper and paperboard substrates. UF0-3258 is formulated to exhibit good gloss,low-curl,excellent wetting
properties and adhesion when applied off-line over dried oil-based sheetfed inks or in-line over dried heatset inks. This
product is not suitable for imprinting, laminating, inkjet receptivity or glue receptivity.
UF0-3279 High Gloss Imprintable/Stampable UV Coating
Use: Paper and paperboard substrates. UF0-3279 is formulated to be evaluated for finishing properties like
imprinting, foil stamping, laser receptivity, glue receptivity, writability and other finishing processes..
This coating can be applied off-line over dried oil-based sheetfed inks or in-line over UV and UV Hybrid
inks. UF0-3279 is also suitable for use over water flexo inks and UV inks.
UF0-3307 Spectra Fast Cure High Gloss UV Coating
for Digital Ink is formulated as a general purpose, high gloss UV coating for application over various digital inks such as HP Indigo, Canon, IGEN, Minolta and
Konica. This product exhibits excellent gloss, clarity and cure response. UF0-3307 is not suitable for
finishing operations like imprinting, foil-stamping, glue receptivity and inkjet receptivity. It can be applied
by a roll coater or flexo coating unit.
UF0-2014 UV GLOSS HIGH VISCOSITY COATING
Use: Select rigid plastic, paperboard and paper substrates. UF0-2014 is formulated to be Benzophenonefree,
HDODA-free for low-odor properties. In addition, this coating exhibits good low-curl properties. This
product is not suitable for imprinting, laminating, inkjet receptivity or glue receptivity. Paper and paperboard substrates.
UF0-660 is formulated to exhibit excellent gloss and good slip over water flexo inks. This product is not suitable for
imprinting, laminating, inkjet receptivity or glue receptivity.
UF0-3252 UV MATTE VARNISH
Use: Paper and paperboard substrates. UF0-3252 is formulated as a general purpose matte UV coating
that exhibits excellent matteness with low thixotropy. This coating can be applied in-line over UV and UV
Hybrid inks. Also suitable for use over dried water flexo inks.
UF0-552 Non-Skid, High Rub UV Coating for Aqueous Inks
Use: Paper, paperboard and corrugated substrates. This specialty product is recommended for use over
water flexo inks where high slide angle and excellent rub resistance are important. In fact, UFS-552
exhibits excellent rub resistance for a non-skid coating. This product is not suitable for imprinting,
laminating, inkjet or glue receptivity.
UF0-575 High Gloss Low-Fingerprint UV Coating
Use: Foil-coated paper and paperboard stocks. UF0-575 exhibits exceptional gloss and fingerprint
resistance when applied off-line over dried sheetfed oil-based inks and in-line over UV inks. This product
is not suitable for imprinting, laminating, inkjet receptivity or glue receptivity.
UF0-579 High Gloss UV Coating (General Purpose/Low Viscosity)
Use: Paperboard substrates. UF0-579 is formulated for superior gloss and cure speed when applied inline
over UV or UV hybrid ink systems for commercial sheetfed printing. This coating exhibits excellent
cure response. This product is not suitable for imprinting, laminating, inkjet receptivity or glue receptivity.
UF0-584 High Gloss Dry Erase UV Coating
Use: Paper, paperboard and select plastic stocks. UF0-584 is formulated for excellent gloss and Dry Erase
marker wetting and clean up. This coating is intended for use with UV inks only. This product can be
evaluated under production conditions for finishing processes like imprinting, laminating, etc.
UF0-626 High Gloss UV Coating (General Purpose/High Viscosity)
Use: Paper and paperboard substrates. UF0-626 is formulated for superior gloss and cure speed when
applied in-line over sheetfed UV or UV hybrid ink systems for commercial sheetfed printing. This product
is not suitable for imprinting, laminating, inkjet receptivity or glue receptivity.
UF0-646 Hot Foil-Stampable Flexible UV Coating
Use: Selected paper and select plastic stocks. UF0-646 is formulated for superior finishing properties
(imprinting, glue receptivity, foil-stamping, etc.) This coating also exhibits exceptional adhesion when
applied in-line to dried heatset and dried oil-based sheetfed inks.
UF0-21002 High Gloss UV Screen Coating
Use: Paper and paperboard stocks. General purpose screen UV coating with excellent gloss and fast
cure over UV inks. This product is not suitable for imprinting, laminating, inkjet receptivity or glue
receptivity.
UF0-21004 High Gloss Flexible UV Screen Coating
Use: Paper and paperboard substrates. UF0-21004 is formulated as a flexible version of UF0-21002 and
can be applied off-line over dried oil-based sheetfed inks. This product is not suitable for imprinting,
laminating, inkjet receptivity or glue receptivity.
UF0-434 Satin UV Primer (primer version of UF0-668)
Use: Paper and paperboard substrates. This product can be evaluated for finishing processes like
imprinting, foil stamping, etc. UF0-434 is formulated to be applied n-line over UV and UV Hybrid inks. Also
suitable for use over dried water flexo inks.
UF0-564 Matte UV Primer (primer version of UF0-426)
Use: Paper and paperboard substrates. This product can be evaluated for finishing processes like
imprinting, foil stamping, etc. In-line over UV and UV Hybrid inks, Also suitable for in-line use over water
flexo inks.
UF0-577 Satin UV Coating
Use: Paper and paperboard substrates. Off-line over dried sheetfed oil-based inks or in-line over dried
heatset inks. Also suitable for in-line application over UV and UV Hybrid inks. This product is not suitable
for imprinting, laminating, inkjet receptivity or glue receptivity.
UF0-453 Strike Thru UV Gloss Coating (Smooth with UF0-3116)
Use: Paper and paperboard stocks. UF0-453 is formulated for in-line application over UF0-3116 for a
smooth strike thru effect with superior gloss contrast. In-line over UV or UV Hybrid inks. This product is
not suitable for imprinting, laminating, inkjet receptivity or glue receptivity.
UF0-688 Strike Thru UV Gloss Coating (Reticulation with UF0-3115)
Use: Paper and paperboard. UF0-688 is formulated for in-line application over UF0-3115 for a reticulation
strike thru effect. In-line over UV or UV Hybrid inks. This product is not suitable for imprinting,
laminating, inkjet receptivity or glue receptivity.
UF0-404 High Gloss Litho UV OPV (Applied through the ink fountain of an offset press)
Use: Paper, paperboard and select plastic stocks where litho criteria are needed to spot varnish. This
product is formulated to exhibit outstanding gloss, hold-out and litho properties when applied in-line over
UV or UV Hybrid inks. This product is not suitable for imprinting, laminating, inkjet receptivity or glue
receptivity.
UF0-500 High Gloss Floodcoat UV OPV
Use: Paper and paperboard stocks. UF0-500 is formulated to exhibit excellent gloss and clarity when
applied in-line over UV or UV Hybrid inks. This is for floodcoat only. This product is not suitable for
imprinting, laminating, inkjet receptivity or glue receptivity.
UF0-536 Floodcoat Ink Primer UV OPV for Plastic
Use: Plastic substrates. This product is formulated to be applied on problematic (low dyne level) plastic
substrates as a 1/D print primer to enhance the adhesion of UV ink. UF0-536 is not intended to be used as
a stand-alone primer. NOTE: Another final 100% floodcoat of an appropriate UV coating will be
required after the inks are printed. All of these properties will have to be evaluated under production
conditions to determine suitability for performance and end-use requirements.
UF0-506 High Gloss Litho UV OPV
Use: Paper, paperboard substrates and some selected plastic stocks with a suitable dyne level. UF0-506 is
formulated to exhibit very good litho properties, good gloss and low misting on press. Apply UF0-506
in-line over sheetfed UV-curable litho ink on paper and folding carton stocks. This product can be
evaluated under production conditions for finishing processes like imprinting, laminating, etc.
UF0-628 High Rub Goss UV Litho OPV
Use: Paper and paperboard substrates. Applied in-line over UV or UV Hybrid inks. This product exhibits
excellent rub resistance and is not suitable for imprinting, laminating, foil stamping, glue receptivity, etc.
UF0-628 exhibits excellent litho properties.
UF0-644 High Gloss Imprintable Litho UV OPV
Use: Paper and paperboard. UF0-644 is formulated to be applied in-line over UV and UV Hybrid litho ink.
This product exhibits excellent imprintability and foil stampability (imprintable version of UF0-565).
Satin and Matte UV Overprint Varnishes
UF0-423 Gloss Release Floodcoat UV OPV
Use: Paper and paperboard substrates. This product is formulated to exhibit tape release. UF0-423
exhibits an extremely low slide angle (COF) and is not suitable for imprinting, foil stamping, glue
receptivity, etc.
UF0-654 Satin Litho UV OPV for Plastic
Use: Paper, paperboard and select plastic stocks. Apply in-line over UV and UV Hybrid inks. UF0-654
exhibits great hold-out properties. This product can be evaluated under production conditions for finishing
processes like imprinting, laminating, etc.
UF0-583 Matte Imprintable Litho UV OPV
Use: Paper and paperboard substrates. Apply in-line over UV and UV Hybrid inks. UF0-583 exhibits
supurb imprintability with excellent litho properties.
UF0-3252 Matte Litho UV OPV
Use: Paper and paperboard substrates. This product is a specialty UV Overprint Varnish that exhibits
excellent matteness and low thixotropy with great litho properties. Apply in-line over UV and UV Hybrid
inks. This product is not suitable for imprinting, laminating, inkjet receptivity or glue receptivity.
